UFC Hall of Famer Stephan Bonnar Out of Retirement, Signs With Bellator

UFC Hall of Famer Stephan Bonnar Out of Retirement, Signs With Bellator

UFC Hall of Famer Stephan Bonnar with Forrest Griffin is credited for taking the UFC to the next level due to their fight on The Ultimate Fighter season 1 Finale. Bonnar lost the fight via unanimous decision but the brawl goes down in history as one of the best UFC fights of all time. Despite Bonnar testing positive for the anabolic steroids Drostanolone and Boldenone that didn't keep UFC President Dana White from inducting him into HOF.

Bonnar (15-8) decided to retire from the sport after a first round TKO loss to Anderson Silva at UFC 153 in 2012 and his positive test for the anabolic steroid Drostanolone, which was the second time in his career

he tested positive for a steroid. Despite the positive tests and suspensions that didn't keep UFC President Dana White from inducting him into HOF. Since then "The American Psycho" has been commentating MMA events and appearing as an analyst.

Earlier this year Bonnar said  "I wouldn't fight for another promotion, It's about loyalty. More than anything, I take pride in being a part of the UFC and I wouldn't want to screw that up."

Looks like his tune has changed since that statement with the announcement of a new multi-fight deal with the revamping Scott Coker is currently doing in Bellator. The signing with Bellator comes with rumors of a fight with  "The Huntington Beach Bad Boy" Tito Ortiz.

UFC Hall of Famer Stephan Bonnar Out of Retirement, Signs With Bellator"I want everyone to know I'm coming out of retirement because it's time to free the MMA world of the virus that's known as Tito Ortiz," Bonnar said in a statement provided by Bellator. "We've been suffering through his boring fights for too many years, and it's about time that someone beats it out of him once and for all."

The beef between the two started with comments Ortiz made when Bonnar was inducted into the Hall of Fame saying he hadn't done enough for the HOF spot, which of course got a response out of Bonnar.

"I'm just gonna call it how it is," he said. I'm gonna help him out. We all know he's broke. We know Jenna took all his money. You know, Punishment Clothing—the only people I see wearing that nowadays are homeless people. His management company, you know—not making any money there. So I'm gonna help the poor guy get paid."

The two never squared off in the the octagon but it looks like they will get their chance inside the Bellator cage. No date has been set yet but we will keep you updated when it is/

Also according to the announcement made Wednesday Bonnar “will also be involved in various components relating to Bellator, including the possibility of on-air commentating and analysis.”
