Fight Fans Iconici Radio MMA went LIVE Saturday at 2:00pm MST with hosts Syndee and Poetrynmotion with the latest MMA news highlights from the past couple of days and very special returning guest Charmaine "Not So Sweet" Tweet joined us to  talk about her upcoming fight.

Charmaine Tweet will be stepping back into the Invicta FC cage to face off against Veronica Rothenhausler in Invicta's first 155 pound fight at the promotions 8th event going down on Sept 6 in Kansas City, MO.
From her Invicta Bio: As a child Charmaine “Not So Sweet” Tweet asked for boxing videos from her parents, and received Sugar Ray Leonard fitness videos instead. Not finding what she was looking for, Tweet eventually joined up at Duke Roofus’ gym to box before falling in love with the martial arts. A world championship kickboxing career followed. Transitioning over to MMA, where she met Ronda Rousey her in her debut bout. Despite a storied kickboxing background, Tweet’s submission skills are world class, and she intends on using all her skill on her way to the top of the Invicta ranks.

Lion Fight 18 Featuring Two Championship Fights

Scott Kent, CEO of Lion Fight, announced that two reigning Lion Fight champions and two of the biggest stars in the sport, Yodsanklai Fairtex and Jorina Baars, will top the card for LION FIGHT 18 live from the Joint in Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas Friday, September 5.
 
Inside MMA was the first to reveal that LION FIGHT 18 will feature two championship title fights, with Fairtex headlining and Baars competing in the co-main event. Both champions will attempt to defend their titles for the first time.
 
Tickets for LION FIGHT 18 are on sale Saturday, July 19 starting at 12:00 p.m. PT through Hard Rock Hotel & Casino box office, online at AXS.com or by calling 1-888-9-AXS-TIX. The full rules Muay Thai LION FIGHT 18 event will take place at The Joint inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Friday, Sept. 5. Doors open at 4:00 p.m. PT; the first bout starts at 5:00 p.m.
 
LION FIGHT 18 will be broadcast live on AXS TV, starting at 10:00 p.m. ET (7:00 p.m. PT) with play-by-play and commentary by UFC Hall of Famer Pat Miletich and Michael "The Voice” Schiavello.
 
“Lion Fight is bringing two of the best Muay Thai fighters, Yodsanklai Fairtex and Jorina Baars, back to the U.S. for LION FIGHT 18 at the Hard Rock in Las Vegas,” said Kent. “In the world of Muay Thai, no name is bigger than Yodsanklai Fairtex and to have him fight on the same night as Jorina Baars, who just defeated the 'baddest woman on the planet, Cris ‘Cyborg,’ makes LION FIGHT 18 a mega-fight for fans everywhere.”
 
Fairtex won the men’s middleweight title at LION FIGHT 10, scoring a unanimous decision over his opponent, Chike Lindsay, while putting on display his world class Muay Thai techniques and style. Fairtex has fought twice for Lion Fight and remains undefeated with wins over Lindsay and French Muay Thai Champion Gregory Choplin.
“I am looking forward to returning to Las Vegas for my first title defense at LION FIGHT 18,” said Fairtex. “I give my thanks to my fans for their support and to Scott Kent and Christine Toledo for giving me another chance to show millions of Americans what my country’s sport is all about.”
 
Lion Fight’s women’s welterweight champion Jorina Baars is on tap for LION FIGHT 18’s co-main event title fight. She last fought at LION FIGHT 14 against one of the biggest stars in combat sports, Cris “Cyborg” Justino, and shocked and impressed fight fans with a dominant performance and unanimous victory over the Brazilian Muay Thai and MMA standout. 
 
“This is my sport,” said Baars upon defeating Cyborg and claiming the first ever Lion Fight welterweight title in the women’s division. “Whoever Lion Fight puts in front of me on September 5th, I will do the same. I’ve been fighting my whole life. No one is going to take this title from me.”

Lion Fight Signs Gaston Bolanos to Exclusive Multi-Fight Contract

Press Release) LAS VEGAS, NV  – Scott Kent, CEO of Lion Fight, today announced he has signed Gaston Bolanos to an exclusive multi-fight contract, stating that the 142 lb. Muay Thai standout has agreed to fight exclusively for Lion Fight, the premier standup combat sports organization and world’s largest and most active promoter of full Muay Thai rules events.
 
“I have built Lion Fight as the promotion that brings in the most respected names in Muay Thai, and the one that finds the next American superstars,” said Kent. “Gaston Bolanos is both, and with the fast-paced, technical fighting style he showed in his first two bouts, he proved he deserves this contract with Lion Fight. Gaston is definitely one to watch in the sport of Muay Thai.”
 
“I cannot express how excited I am to sign an exclusive agreement with Lion Fight,” said Bolanos. “It has been my dream since I was a child in Peru to fight Muay Thai on a global stage. Now Lion Fight has given me this opportunity and for that I am forever grateful. Thank you Scott Kent and Christine Toledo for believing in me and elevating Muay Thai to the level it deserves.”
 
Just 21 years old, Bolanos is 2-0 in the Lion Fight ring and has already delivered back-to-back fight finishes through two stunning performances. He defeated Brian Del Rosario by TKO in his professional debut at Lion Fight 14. He followed that up with an aggressive and dominant win over Tyler Toner at Lion Fight 16, punishing Toner with elbows and scoring from the clinch, bringing fans to their feet, then forcing a stoppage before the start of the second round.
 
Bolanos started training in combat sports at the age of 10 in his native Lima, Peru. Now based out of Dublin, Calif., Bolanos trains under Kirian Fitzgibbons and current Lion Fight Super Lightweight Champion Kevin Ross, out of Combat Sports Academy. He is a two-time South American Muay Thai Champion, U.S. Muay Thai Champion, and a two-time USA representative at the IFMA World Championships. As an amateur, Bolanos racked up 23 wins with more than a dozen fight finishes. As a professional he remains undefeated.
 
Bolanos joins the growing roster of athletes signed to exclusive contracts including Tiffany Van Soest, Lion Fight Super Lightweight Champion Kevin Ross, and rising star Jason Andrada.

Fight Fans we had an exciting show on Iconici Radio MMA last Thursday at 7:30pm MST. Syndee and Poetrynmotion talked about the latest UFC news, weekly MMA news and MMA rumors this week. We were excited to welcome special guest UFC Fight Night Welterweight Alan Jouban and MMA Legend Dan Severn onto the show.

A little background on both guests just incase you are wondering.

Alan Jouban has just signed into the UFC from RFA and will be making his promotion debut August 16th against Seth Baczynski at UFC Fight Night 47 in Bangor, ME. Alan is currently on a two fight win streak with 5 of his 9 pro MMA wins coming by way of KO or TKO. Alan is also an actor and model out of Cali.

In our second half

MMA LEGEND Dan "The Beast" Severn will be joining us to talk about his MMA career and the different projects he has going as he figures out what he wants to do when he grows up. (Those were his words Haha) Severn has fought and wrestled for many MMA and professional wrestling promotions, including King of the Cage, PRIDE FC, Cage Rage, WEC, RINGS, MFC and the WWE. He holds a professional MMA Record of 101–19–7 and is a UFC Hall of Famer and a former UFC Superfight Champion.
